Research Is Not About Who Gets Selected—It’s About Who Gets Supported to the End

At A ONE, our research program is far more than just “an opportunity to write a paper". We offer a structured and fully guided research system that enables high school students to complete an academic paper from start to finish. All classes are led by instructors with a Ph.D. and at least three years of postdoctoral research experience. In addition to the primary instructor, a team of senior researchers joins during the final stages to review and refine each project, ensuring the highest quality of work. We don’t assign topics. Instead, we help students discover original and meaningful research questions that reflect their academic level and personal interests. Whether the project involves experimental design or computational modeling, students are guided to construct sound reasoning, analyze data, and write effectively—while leading the process themselves. Most importantly, A ONE does not leave research progress up to student motivation alone. When students struggle to keep up, we don’t simply wait—we adjust the plan, realign the pace, and stay with them to the end. This is not a passive “teaching” model—it’s an accountable, results-driven partnership. As a result, every paper produced at A ONE reaches the level required for submission to major research competitions and journals.
